ABOUT THE NEWSLETTER
I started this newsletter in May 2020 because I wanted to help writers cultivate sustainable writing practices for themselves. It’s my hope that readers will come away from Lonely Victories with a new zest for their writing lives.
"I especially appreciate Winkler's emphasis on accountability for writers and her ideas for how to create it." —Mason Currey, author of the Daily Rituals series
I’m Hurley Winkler, a writer who loves thinking about the creative process.
My writing has appeared in The Millions, Hobart, Neutral Spaces, and elsewhere, I’m a regular interviewer for The Creative Independent and Jacksonville Music Experience, and I’m the web editor for Rose Books. I’m represented by Elizabeth Bewley at Sterling Lord Literistic.
I’ve been facilitating workshops for prose writers since 2019, and there’s nothing I love more than helping writers pursue their work joyfully.
