Cleaning out my email inboxes is definitely my version of comfort work. Most emails only need quick responses or a few minutes of reading, so I can "check off tasks" very quickly and end up with a nice, clean inbox that makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Also I can do it while sitting in my comfy chair.
The idea of "comfort work" is fascinating -- I think I do this often, but would never have given it that moniker on my own. For me it's usually editing other people's work.
I love the re-frame of doing something besides the main project as "comfort work." I've always felt like "everything else is a distraction" which leads, most often, to doing nothing!! I think my entire project Mom Blog is comfort work!!! I love writing it and it feels easy but also challenging. Any other non-work work usually looks compulsive, like deciding, for the tenth time, to totally restructure my manuscript, etc., etc. Thanks for your roundup!!!

Wonderfully uplifting, as always!
