I read your interview with The Honeycomb, and the idea of picking three books you like and figuring out what they do that you want to do really resonated. I've recently read Elin Hilderbrand's "Swan Song" and Claire Lombardo's "Same As It Ever Was" and am currently reading Richard Russo's "Somebody's Fool." They all play with omniscient tense in different ways -- even though Lombardo's isn't straightforward, she still pulls back at spots before going really close to the character. After I get this draft done I'm going to explore that on the revision. (Also, I think I'm subscribed to this newsletter and to the Writing Nights under two different emails, but it's just the one me!)

It makes me so happy to know that you got value from that exercise! It’s really helped me find my way in my own work.
Thanks Hurley! You are endlessly inspiring. And we all need that right now, not just us writers...
So excited to attend the summer writing nights next week and book club!! Picking up the book this weekend 💗
Yay! Excited to have you there! See you soon 💛
