GROWING OUR BOOKS WORKSHOP
✨ Class returning for Fall 2024! In this class, elongation is the name of the game. It’s a warm and encouraging Zoom room where writers help each other envision their pages of fiction or nonfiction as a book-length work.
Currently enrolling writers for two workshop sessions:
Wednesdays for five weeks · live on Zoom
September 25 - October 23
select from two sessions: 5:30-7:10pm EST or 7:30-9:10pm EST
includes two one-on-one meetings to discuss your writing goals
Cost: $350 USD for workshop with one-on-one support. 10% off for paid newsletter subscribers: promo code at the bottom of this email.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS WORKSHOP
four submission deadlines
prompts to help you grow your writing project
a kind-hearted community of fellow writers
feedback that inspires you to keep writing
Each time I facilitate this class, I’m amazed by the progress writers make with their book-length projects: not only on the page, but in the way they imagine their books as a whole. No matter where you are in your book-writing journey, I’d love to have you.
Sessions capped at just four writers each. Sign up today to claim your spot.
SUMMER WRITING NIGHTS
I’ve been writing alongside a group of committed writers every Wednesday night this summer. Despite the fact that we’ve almost come to the end of Summer Writing Nights, we’re still going strong!
If you’d like to join us for our remaining co-writing sessions (9/4, 9/11, and 9/18), you can sign up for just $10.
Paid newsletter subscribers: you can join the remaining sessions of Summer Writing Nights FOR FREE. You’ll find the Zoom info below the paywall of this newsletter.
CAMBRIDGE COMMON READERS BOOK CLUB
To usher in the fall, I’m leading a discussion of Jacqueline Suskin’s A Year in Practice: Seasonal Rituals and Prompts to Awaken Cycles of Creative Expression with Cambridge Common Readers on Thursday, September 26 at 7PM EST. You can register for this free discussion here.
Cambridge Common Writers is the alumni organization of Lesley University’s MFA in Creative Writing Program, where I graduated in 2017. They’ve graciously extended this free book club discussion outside the Lesley MFA community. If you’re curious about what kind of impact the shifting seasons might have on your creative life, I’d love to have you there!
FREE OP-ED WRITING WORKSHOP
Just in time for election season, writer Megan Mayhew-Bergman is offering a free Op-Ed Writing Workshop designed to help writers craft and pitch op-eds to newspapers.
The workshop is on Tuesday, September 17 at 12pm EST. It’s free (!) and you can register here. I’ll be there assisting Megan with the workshop, so if you end up attending, say hi in the chat!
